UNDERSTANDING CLINICAL IMAGES

Before-and-After Gallery Disclaimer

Clinical images show individual cases. They are educational examples only and do not predict, promise or guarantee the result another patient may experience.

Individual results are not typical or guaranteed

Every patient has different oral health, anatomy, medical history, treatment needs, preferences and maintenance. The appearance shown in one case may not be achievable, suitable or advisable for another person. Results, recovery, comfort, longevity and the need for future care vary.

An image shows appearance at a particular time. It cannot show all risks, symptoms, functional outcomes, complications, treatment alternatives or long-term maintenance.

Consent and privacy

Patient images are displayed only where the clinic has appropriate authority for the stated use. Consent to treatment is separate from consent to photography and publication. A patient may ask the clinic about withdrawing consent for future use, subject to practical and legal limits once material has been distributed.

We avoid unnecessary identifying information and handle image records as health information under our Privacy Policy.

How images should be presented

Before-and-after views should be genuine and as comparable as practicable in camera angle, framing, lighting, contrast, background and exposure. Images must not be digitally altered to exaggerate or fabricate the treatment outcome. If an image has been cropped, adjusted or otherwise altered in a way relevant to interpretation, this should be explained.

The referenced procedure should be the visible treatment-related change. Labels should not imply specialist registration or unsupported expertise.

Treatment context and limitations

Where practicable, a case should identify the general treatment category, relevant timeframe and important context needed to avoid a misleading impression. It should not omit a material fact that changes how the result is understood.

The gallery is not a complete account of possible results. Selection of cases can itself create an unbalanced impression, so viewers should not assume that published cases represent the average or likely outcome.

Assessment before treatment

A registered dentist must assess your dental and medical history, oral health and goals before discussing suitability. Ask about benefits, material risks, alternatives, likely fees, expected maintenance and the option of no treatment. You can also seek a second opinion before non-urgent care.

Book a consultation or contact the clinic if you would like individual information.
