Dental implant treatment is one of the most personalised procedures in dentistry. No two cases are identical, the cost of your treatment will depend on how many teeth need replacing, the condition of your jawbone, whether additional procedures such as bone grafting are required, and the type of implant restoration that is most appropriate for your situation.

The prices below are guide figures based on our current fee schedule. All costs will be confirmed in your personalised treatment plan following a consultation and, where appropriate, 3D imaging.

Important: Prices listed on this page are starting-from guides only. Your actual treatment cost will be provided in a written, itemised treatment plan following your consultation. No treatment proceeds without your full informed consent and agreement to the quoted costs.

Initial Consultation and 3D Imaging

Every implant journey begins with a thorough consultation and diagnostic assessment. This allows Dr Desmond Ng to assess your bone quality and volume, oral health, gum condition and overall suitability for implant treatment before any treatment is recommended or quoted.

Consultation

Comprehensive Implant Assessment

Includes clinical examination, oral health review, medical history discussion, treatment goal assessment and discussion of suitable implant options.

Fee applies, confirmed at booking

Imaging

3D Imaging and Implant Planning

Advanced cone beam CT scanning to assess jawbone volume, quality and anatomy. Essential for precise implant planning and identifying the need for any preparatory procedures.

From $259

Single Dental Implant Costs

A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth and is typically completed in two clinical stages. The implant post is placed first and allowed to integrate with the jawbone, followed by the final crown restoration once healing is confirmed.

Back Tooth

Single Back Tooth Implant

Starting from $5,800

Typically includes two stages:

  • Stage 1, Implant placement surgery: from $2,550
  • Stage 2, Final porcelain crown restoration: from $2,400

Back tooth implants restore chewing function in the premolar and molar regions.

Front Tooth

Single Front Tooth Implant

Starting from $6,300

Typically includes two stages:

  • Stage 1, Implant placement surgery: from $2,550
  • Stage 2, Final porcelain crown restoration: from $2,900

Front tooth implants require additional aesthetic planning to ensure a natural-looking result in the smile zone.

Full Arch Implant Costs

Full arch implant solutions replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth using strategically placed implants supporting a fixed bridge. These solutions are designed for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth and are seeking an alternative to full removable dentures.

Full Arch

Full Arch Implant Solutions

Starting from $25,500 per arch

Treatment typically includes implant placement, a preliminary implant-supported restoration during healing, and a final fixed implant bridge. The exact scope depends on your bone structure, oral health and desired outcome. A personalised treatment plan with itemised costs will be provided following your consultation and 3D imaging.

Temporary Teeth During Healing

In some cases, temporary restorations may be recommended during the healing phase between implant placement and the final restoration. Options include:

Removable Temporary Teeth

A removable interim solution during healing.

From $230

Bonded Temporary Teeth

A fixed interim restoration bonded to adjacent teeth.

From $500

Immediate Temporary on Implant

A temporary crown attached directly to the implant at placement, where clinically appropriate.

From $600

Bone Grafting and Additional Procedure Costs

Some patients require preparatory procedures before implant placement can occur. Insufficient bone volume or gum tissue may affect implant stability and long-term outcomes. Where these procedures are required, they will be clearly outlined in your treatment plan.

Gum

Soft Tissue (Gum) Grafting

Used to improve gum volume and aesthetics around the implant site.

From $400

Bone

Hard Tissue Bone Grafting

Guided bone regeneration to increase jawbone volume where deficiencies exist prior to implant placement.

From $400

Sinus

Required when insufficient bone exists in the upper jaw above the sinus cavity. Increases available bone height for implant placement.

From $500, $2,500

Imaging

3D Imaging and Planning

Advanced cone beam CT scanning required for all implant cases to assess bone volume, quality and anatomy.

From $259

Implant Supported Denture Costs

Implant-supported dentures use dental implants to stabilise existing or new dentures, significantly improving retention and comfort for patients who struggle with loose or ill-fitting dentures.

Single Implant Denture Stabilisation

One implant used to improve denture retention. Includes conversion of an existing denture where clinically appropriate.

From $3,250

Two Implant Denture Stabilisation

Two implants providing significantly improved stability and retention. Most commonly used for lower dentures where movement causes discomfort.

From $6,000

Why Do Dental Implant Costs Vary?

Every patient’s implant journey is different. The factors that most commonly influence the overall cost of treatment include:

  • Number of teeth being replaced
  • Location of the missing tooth or teeth (front vs back)
  • Jawbone quality and volume at the implant site
  • Whether bone grafting or sinus lifting is required before placement
  • Whether gum grafting is needed
  • Type of final restoration required (crown, bridge or denture)
  • Complexity of the surgical procedure
  • Whether temporary teeth are needed during healing
  • Number of implants required for full arch solutions

Health Fund Rebates for Dental Implants

Depending on your level of private health extras cover, rebates may be available for certain components of your dental implant treatment. Dentists @ Canning Vale is a preferred provider for several major health funds, including BUPA Members First Platinum, Medibank Members’ Choice Advantage, HCF More For Teeth, HBF Member Plus, NIB First Choice, CBHS Choice Network and Smile.com.au.

We offer HICAPS on-the-spot claiming so your rebate is processed at the time of your appointment. Our team can provide an itemised treatment plan with dental item numbers to assist you in confirming your entitlements with your health fund before treatment begins.

Check your cover first: Implant-related rebates vary significantly between funds and policies. Many funds have waiting periods, annual limits and specific item number restrictions that affect what is claimable. We strongly recommend contacting your health fund directly before commencing treatment to understand your entitlements.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implant Costs

Why can’t you give me an exact price without a consultation?

Dental implant costs are determined by your individual clinical situation, bone volume, number of teeth, whether grafting is needed, and the type of restoration required. These factors can only be assessed through an examination and, in most cases, 3D imaging. Giving a firm price without seeing your specific case would not be accurate or responsible.

Are the prices listed the total cost of treatment?

The prices listed are starting-from guides for each component of treatment. Your total cost will depend on which stages and procedures are required for your specific case. A complete, itemised treatment plan is provided following your consultation so you have a full picture of all costs before deciding whether to proceed.

Do you offer payment plans for dental implants?

Please contact our team directly to discuss payment options. We can discuss what arrangements may be available to help make treatment more manageable. Payment options will be discussed as part of your treatment planning appointment.

Can I use my health fund for dental implants?

Rebates may be available through your private health extras cover for some components of implant treatment. Entitlements depend on your fund, policy, waiting periods and annual limits. We recommend contacting your fund before your appointment. Our team can provide item numbers from your treatment plan to assist with your enquiry.

Why does a front tooth implant cost more than a back tooth?

Front teeth sit in the visible smile zone and require a higher level of aesthetic planning to achieve a natural-looking result. The crown restoration is more complex to design and match, and the margin for error in terms of appearance is much lower. This additional work is reflected in the cost.

Do I definitely need bone grafting and will it add to the cost?

Not all patients require bone grafting. Whether grafting is needed depends on the volume and quality of bone at the implant site, which is assessed using 3D imaging. If grafting is required, it will be included in your treatment plan with its own itemised cost before any treatment proceeds.

The most accurate way to understand the cost of dental implants is a personalised consultation with Dr Desmond Ng. Following your assessment and 3D imaging, we will provide a complete written treatment plan with all costs clearly itemised, so you can make a fully informed decision.
