What to Know Before Your Appointment
Our team aims to make every visit as organised, comfortable and straightforward as possible. The information below will help you prepare.
Your First Appointment
🕑 Please arrive approximately 10 minutes early
This allows time to complete a new patient questionnaire and provide important information before your appointment begins.
If you are attending Dentists @ Canning Vale for the first time, please bring details relating to your:
- Medical history and current medications
- Allergies
- Previous dental treatment
- Health fund details
- Dental concerns or treatment goals
Providing accurate information helps our dentists understand your needs and recommend care that is appropriate for your individual circumstances.
Finding Our Clinic
We recommend visiting our Locations page to plan your travel before your appointment. Arriving a little early helps reduce stress and gives you time to check in with our reception team.
Health Funds and HICAPS
Dentists @ Canning Vale accepts private health funds and has HICAPS available for on-the-spot claiming.
💳 Please bring your health fund card to your appointment
A card number alone may not be sufficient for HICAPS claiming, the physical card or approved digital claiming method may be required for security and processing.
Health fund rebates vary depending on your provider, policy, waiting periods and level of cover. Please contact your health fund directly to confirm your entitlements before your appointment.

Eligible BUPA, HCF and Medibank patients may be entitled to two no-gap check-up and clean appointments per year (including x-rays), where appointments are at least six months apart and subject to fund rules, policy limits and eligibility. Please confirm your cover directly with your health fund.
Payments and Gap Payments
All gap payments are due on the day of your appointment. We accept the following payment methods:
Our reception team can process your HICAPS claim on the day where applicable. Any remaining gap payment will be payable after your rebate has been processed.
Treatment Plans and Finance Options
For more complex treatment plans, payment planning options may be discussed, including finance through National Dental Plan where available.
Finance is subject to third-party terms, conditions, eligibility and approval. Our team can provide a treatment plan and itemised quote so you can consider your options before proceeding.

Medicare, CDBS and Veterans’ Affairs
🧬 Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
We see eligible patients under the CDBS. Please let our reception team know when booking so we can check relevant details and prepare for your appointment.
🎉 Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
We see eligible patients under DVA arrangements. Please advise us at the time of booking so we can check your eligibility and prepare accordingly.
Eligibility, available benefits and claim limits may vary. Please confirm your eligibility with the relevant government program before treatment.
Appointment Cancellations
🕒 Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule
This allows us to offer your appointment time to another patient, including someone who may require urgent care. A small fee may apply for missed appointments or late cancellations.
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as early as possible so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.

To help us provide appropriate care and accurate administration, please let our team know if any of the following change between appointments:
- Contact details (phone, address, email)
- Medical history or current medications
- Allergies
- Health fund provider
- Medicare or CDBS details
- Veterans’ Affairs details
