We welcome your feedback. Whether it’s a compliment, a suggestion, or a concern about your care or your experience at Dentists @ Canning Vale, we want to hear from you. This policy explains how to raise a concern and what happens next, in line with the Australian Dental Association’s Policy Statement 5.4 on Complaints Resolution.
1. Talk to Us First
Most concerns can be resolved quickly and informally by speaking with your treating dentist or our practice team directly. We encourage you to raise any concern with us as soon as possible so we can address it while it’s fresh and while we can act on it.
2. How to Lodge a Complaint
You can raise a complaint with us:
- By phone: (08) 9256 2588
- By email: admin@dacv.com.au
- In person, at Unit 8, 3 South Street, Canning Vale WA 6155
- In writing, via our Contact Us page
Please provide as much detail as you can, including your name, contact details, the date of the appointment or interaction involved, and a description of your concern.
3. What Happens Next
We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve straightforward concerns within a few business days. More complex matters, for example, those requiring a clinical review, may take longer, and we will keep you informed of our progress. Raising a complaint will never negatively affect the standard of care you receive from us, now or in the future.
4. If You’re Not Satisfied With Our Response
If you feel your complaint hasn’t been resolved to your satisfaction after speaking with us, you have the right to raise it with an independent body. Which body is appropriate depends on the nature of your concern:
- Health Service Complaints (Western Australia) – the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office (HaDSCO) is the independent WA body for complaints about the standard of health care received.
- Practitioner Conduct or Registration – concerns about whether a practitioner has met their professional or advertising obligations can be raised with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the Dental Board of Australia.
- Privacy Concerns – complaints about how we’ve handled your personal information should first be raised with us under our Privacy Policy, and can otherwise be escalated to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
5. Feedback and Suggestions
Not every piece of feedback is a complaint, we’re always glad to hear suggestions on how we can improve, and positive feedback is shared with our team.
This page should be read together with our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.
